The Loddon Mallee Region Allied Health Network was established in March 2003 and is funded by the Loddon Mallee Office of the Department of Health.
The Allied Health Network members include Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetic, Speech Pathology and Podiatry staff, working in the public health sector.
The information produced by the network is also made available to other Allied Health professions and also those working as private practitioners.
The aim of the Allied Health Network is to assist with the co ordination of professional development and to provide opportunities for allied health professionals to discuss sectorial and service issues. The Allied Health Network liaise with many other organisations that can assist the practice of rural allied Health professionals.
Assisting communication, co-ordination of professional development and support for Allied Health within the region are the primary goals of the network.
The role of the reference group is to support the working of the network and provide links with organisations that can assist this process. The reference group also provide guidance to issue resolution.
The reference group has established four meetings per year with the Department of Health so that regional Allied Health issues can be discussed as they arise.
